Handcrafted Unique Pottery

New work will be available end of May ‘24

My ceramics are a contemporary interpretation of traditional studio pottery. I make functional and non-functional pieces that explore form and surface using stoneware and porcelain clays . As a starting point I usually use the potter’s wheel. I then use a variety of techniques to enhance the forms, often by cutting, faceting, squaring, and altering each piece. My aim is to reveal the qualities of the clay as an expressive medium. The influence of living in the country in West Waterford is conveyed by the naturalistic forms and organic nature of the pieces.

The work is wood-fired and sometimes salt-glazed.
